CARFAX, INC. is a commercial web-based service that supplies vehicle history reports to individuals
and car dealerships on used cars and light trucks for the American and Canadian marketplaces.
CARFAX first offered the early version CARFAX Vehicle History Report to the dealer market in 1986.
These reports were developed with a database of just 10,000 vehicle records and were distributed via
fax machine. By the end of 1993, CARFAX obtained title information from nearly all fifty states.
CARFAX started with a vision - to be the leading source of vehicle history information for buyers
and sellers of used cars. Today carfax.com is one of the top five websites that consumers turn to

| • WOW! All I can say is that if you are buying a used car without using CARFAX you are asking for
trouble. They saved us from spending over $6,000 on a car that had been in TWO ACCIDENTS that the
owner swore was clean. Thank you buddy.
• If you are buying a used car this is the site to visit! Less than 20 bucks buys you a ton of
information and piece of mind about the history of a used car.
